Angela Devi What Happened

The Alliance for the Planet invites users to identify projects "Grenello-incompatible."

Alliance for planet is the collective of NGOs (Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, Max Havelaar, WWF and several dozen others). She has published on its website a dynamic map of projects "Grenello-incompatible" . The Alliance uses the Internet (for the moment by means of a very traditional mode: the mail) to "make known a project Grenello-incompatible." The map is generated by Google Maps.
NGOs are slowly beginning to integrate all the power of Web 2.0 ... And this is only the beginnings ... to pressure politics.

Storytelling and Democracy Conference

I already read diagonally and then I took the time to read it quietly for the winter holidays: The book of Christian Salmon, Storytelling . Machine to produce stories and format minds.

The subject is fascinating, even if the book has caused some bad reviews like those of Frederic Martel of Nonfiction. Nevertheless, the book has the merit of opening the debate on a phenomenon that is pressed and which is measured a little more each day the bad: The political celebrity, politics "story", the political buzz.

If politics has become a competition of storytellers or story spinners, so I wonder if we should not opt for a system of indirect democracy and participatory: A system allowing both to shelter the elected (and the President in particular) and an elective system based mandatory policy (drift) on the manipulation of public opinion (we would be more than the characters or objects exciting stories ...), and to participate more consistently, directly, citizens reflection and the formation of laws. This participation would not be a referendum, it becomes active.

Presidential systems become a succession of stories, at election time, but also outside an election period. The campaign becomes permanent. And one has the impression of a constant zapping, no vision, no depth and no common project. The question is not Nicolas Sarkozy, Ségolène Royal au Zénith or Barack Obama in another register. Women and politicians espouse their time and are a reflection of an era. The question is simply, is that our political system is it best suited today to address the market of public opinion?

For my part, I do not think so. I believe a new constitution must be created, redefining the powers and organization of our methods of election. This constitution will guarantee more participatory democracy and give a chance for political courage. Today, our Constitution, valid at 58, is no more, even with its 24 amendments. At the time the policy was not yet a brand in a market opinion, with a value, an asset ... possible impairment of assets ... which depend just as much turmoil as media of his convictions and his actions. The formation of 58 naturally creates a personification of political life and a gradual (and necessary) concentration of power in few hands only to maintain his place, his condition, his reputation ... in the market of public opinion. Next episode in Gala.
